To protect the investment of your car, truck or SUV, you need a solid warranty to fall back on, just in case. GM offers warranties and programs that will provide drivers with the extensive coverage they need. And for even greater peace of mind, we also provide several additional Protection Plans that are designed to suit your specific driving needs. Take a look here at some of the warranty and protection options that are available for our brands.
Transferable Powertrain Limited Warranty
Covers the most expensive and important components such as your engine, drive systems, axle assemblies and transmission. This limited warranty is included in a new vehicle purchase and is fully transferable with no fees or deductibles.
Bumper to Bumper Limited Warranty
This warranty covers the entire vehicle for all repairs that is attributed to defects in the workmanship and/or materials, with no deductible during the warranty period. The Bumper to Bumper Limited Warranty also includes parts and labor to correct any defects. If towing is required, the warranty will cover the vehicle to be hauled to the nearest dealership.
Complimentary Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation
If warrantied repairs are required, GM will provide you with 24-hour Roadside Assistance. This includes several transportation options where GM will also cover the expenses for alternative transportation.
GM vehicles are already designed to resist corrosion, but the company still offers a warranty for all body and sheet metal components.
Rust Through Protection
If rust creates a hole in the sheet metal, the GM rust-through protection will cover the repairs, excluding damage caused by stone chips or paint scratches.
You also have the option when you purchase to buy an Extended Limited Warranty rather than the Standard Limited Warranty. This extended option provides even more protection and is fully transferable if you plan to sell your vehicle. Depending on the make and model, you might also have the option to extend the factory included maintenance by purchasing additional Extended Factory Maintenance to get even more included visits.
Electric Vehicle Limited Warranty Information.
If your vehicle is Electric, it might be eligible for Electric Vehicle Limited Warranty protection. Certain electric components will receive coverage against warrantable repairs.
First Maintenance Visit
GM provides drivers with one included maintenance visit during the first year for new vehicles. This includes a standard oil change, tire rotation, and Multi-Point vehicle inspection.
There are a number of available protection plans that you can add as well. The most popular plan is the Gap Plan. In the event that your vehicle is a total loss, Gap coverage will protect you from paying a loan on a vehicle that your insurance doesn’t cover.
